Donald Trump "The reverse Tornado"


Here is a somebody I admire, his name is Donald Trump, and I like his nickname, "the reverse tornado", because he builds everything on his path. That's what we all should do. Don't be a dweller, be a "Doer", think on what you want to do, and get the energy to get it done! I think he makes a fine example of what a successful industrial engineer should be. "Don't see the problem see the solution" here is a little bit about his biography.

Donald Trump was born in New York on the 14th of June 1946. His father Fred Trump was a successful property developer that helped form the young Donald's business sense.
Trump began his career in his family's real estate business after studying at the Wharton Business School. He worked with his father for five years and was extremely successful in making profitable deals. His father commented on his son's business success by stating that "everything he seems to touch turns to gold".
After gaining the necessary business skills in real estate from his father, Donald Trump moved into the Manhattan real estate scene. He went on to acquire some of the most exclusive properties in the city. Trump Casino, Trump International Hotel, Trump Marina Hotel and Casino, Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort and Trump Tower are among his prestigious portfolio of real estate properties.
Donald Trump starred in his own reality TV program in 2004. The Apprentice program is a selection of candidates competing against each other in the area of business to ultimately become Donald Trump's apprentice.The series was a hit and has gone on to be one of the more popular reality programs each year.
Trump is a self confident and extravagant businessman that has made himself instantly recognizable wherever he goes. His interests include real estate, entertainment, gaming, and sports. Trump also owns part of the three largest beauty competitions in the world, consisting of Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA. He is also a successful author with several best selling business books published that include The Art of the Deal, The Art of Survival and How to get rich. Among his many other pursuits, Donald Trump was briefly interested in running for President, is a member of several civic and charitable organizations and is a generous philanthropist.

Remember, you would never be successful until you love what you do!

Finding a Job.


In this task, I'm suppose to look for an Entry level job, and a dream job, and I found out several jobs, where I can apply my knowledge in my area of expertise, and a WHOLE WIDE variety of organizations, where a Industrial Engineer can work, for example: Food chains, Goverment organizations, designing of combat systems, metal Industries, etc. because all of them need to lay out processes, work methods, cost controls, to solve shrink problems, etc. I feel good because I know that I'm in the right career and that I love what I can do to make out of any Industry, a success. I highlighted in orange what I like about this job.

About the Job
An entry-level position that reports to Senior Level Industrial Engineer. The incumbent is responsible for engineering activities towards improving the manufacturing process in the areas of safety, efficiency, quality and cost. The IE I acquires and maintains a keen understanding of all processes employed in the manufacture of products at the San Marcos Operations. Basic activities include establishing process routings and process standards. Services are provided in the area of cost analysis, systems analysis and work & job design in order to provide best value systems solutions for process, organization and business needs. Performs other miscellaneous assignments, as directed, to support facility, manufacturing and engineering functions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. Plans space requirements, workflows, designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety. · Works with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Develops design for manufacturing cells for new products and current products including design of cell and related fixtures, tools, etc. · Calculates production times, staffing, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Develops and verifies assembly procedures/work instructions. · Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. · Works with vendors to provide manufacturing specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment and materials and provide the necessary fixture designs as required. · Manages project work in an organized and timely manner. · BOM and work instruction integrity as well as scrap analysis/reduction. · Physical demands includes ability to safely work in a manufacturing environment and the ability to stand for long periods of time, use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls as well as the ability to lift objects weighing up to 65 lbs. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: · Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering. Will also consider strong candidate with a Bachelors degree in Industrial Technology. · 0-2 years of experience. If required for degree, current term college graduate must have completed internship or senior project . RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS: · Daily interaction with employees at all levels of the operation and especially with production employees, engineering, manufacturing supervision and management, and Accounting department. Contact with various external vendors. JOB SKILLS: · Ability to facilitate and document time studies. · Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing including Kaizen, Kanban, 5S and work cell design. · Excellent ability to identify problems, analyze options, and apply solutions. · Strong communication, documentation, listening, and interpersonal skills. · Computer literacy including internet, Microsoft office applications and windows operating system. · Good time management and organizational skills. · Working knowledge of ISO 2000:9001 · Ability to employ statistical analyses.

What is Industrial Engineering?


A branch of engineering dealing with the design, development, and implementation of integrated systems of humans, machines, and information resources to provide products and services. Industrial engineering encompasses specialized knowledge and skills in the physical, social, engineering, and management sciences, such as human and cognitive sciences, computer systems and information technologies, manufacturing processes, operations research, production, and automation. The industrial engineer integrates people into the design and development of systems, thus requiring an understanding of the physical, physiological, psychological, and other characteristics that govern and affect the performance of individuals and groups in working environments.

Industrial engineering is a broad field compared to other engineering disciplines. The major activities of industrial engineering stem from manufacturing industries and include work methods analysis and improvement; work measurement and the establishment of standards; machine tool analysis and design; job and workplace design; plant layout and facility design; materials handling; cost reduction; production planning and scheduling; inventory control, maintenance, and replacement; statistical quality control; scheduling; assembly-line balancing, systems, and procedures; and overall productivity improvement. Computers and information systems have necessitated additional activities and functions, including numerically controlled machine installation and programming; manufacturing systems design; computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing, design of experiments, quality engineering, and statistical process control; computer simulation, operations research, and management science methods; computer applications, software development, and information technology; human-factors engineering; ergonomics systems design and integration; and robotics and automation.

The philosophy and motivation of the industrial engineering profession is to find the most efficient and effective methods, procedures, and processes for an operating system, and to seek continuous improvement. Thus, industrial engineering helps organizations grow and expand efficiently during periods of prosperity, and streamline costs and consolidate and reallocate resources during austere times.
